Rwandan Minister refutes “Secret talks between Rwanda and Burundi”
Rwanda’s State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe refuted information which mentions that Burundi has had secret talks with Rwanda following the diplomatic spats that exist between the two countries.
The News broke in after this website learnt from various media sources that On Friday 24th August 2018, Burundi’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ezeckiel Nibigira announced that his country has held secret talks with Rwanda and Belgium to put an end to the diplomatic quarrels that existed between them.
He said “To date there is a significant step reached towards the revival of good relations between Burundi and the two countries.”
Rwanda’s Minister of State in the Ministry of foreign Affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe, on this Saturday 25th August, 2018 via his Twitter account slams the allegations with the following Tweets:
LOL! I asked you a simple question: WHEN and WHERE? I should also add: WHO? Nobody in Rwanda is involved in any talks with Burundian officials (for what?). None! This is simply #FakeNews! And @EzechielNib and @willynyamitwe will agree with me!

The Rwandan Minister has also strongly opposed the media who announced the talks between the two countries saying ”

Whether the talks has been held or not, on the other side Burundian Minisiter Nibigira, according to media reports announced the move about “Secret talks” after also a secret consultations that he had with all foreign diplomatic representations in Burundi, Topafricanews has learnt on this Saturday.
The Nibigira Meeting aimed at informing the diplomats about the upcoming Burundian dialogues that will take place outside the country.
However Nibigira noted that “These are last dialogues that Burundi is going to hold outside.”
