BREAKINGNEWS: Two Prominent Opposition Parties in Rwanda Win Parliamentary Seats
Green Party and PS-Imberakuri have both garnered the threshold of 5% of votes, winning 2 seats each in the next Chamber of Deputies, the Rwanda electoral commission chief has announced.
RPF has won 40 seats PSD 5 seats PL 4 seats. Independents – 0
Green Party and PS-Imberakuri victory is seen as a historical victory because it’s the first Time, parties that were born after the genocide against Tutsis are winning parliamentary seats.
Dr. Kayumba Christopher, a Rwandan Political analyst and Media Personality Tweeted that this is “An important step forward in the consensual power-sharing political system.”
He Congratulated Frank Habineza, the Green Party Leader and PS-Imberakuri of Mukabunani.
