European Green Party congratulates Rwanda’s Green Party for setting new milestone
Brussels, Sep 9 (UNI) The European Green Party (EGP) has congratulated the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda after its success in parliamentary elections on 3 September.
According to a press release issued by the EGP Press Officer Paul Nolan, the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda won 5 per cent of the national vote, allowing them to enter parliament for the first time with two seats.
European Green Party co-chairs Reinhard Bütikofer, Monica Frassoni and Committee Member Evelyne Huytebroeck said, “the EGP congratulates the Rwandan Green party leader Frank Habineza and Secretary General Jean-Claude Ntezimana for their successful campaign in the parliamentary elections.
“This is an important victory for the Rwandan Green party, which is now in a position to help shape the East African country’s future.
