EgyptAir announces two direct flights to Rwanda and Cameroon

Egyptian airline EgyptAir announced Thursday the opening in February of two new flights to Rwanda and Cameroon, while Egypt seeks to strengthen its ties with the African continent.
The CEO of the company, Sherif Ezzat, has confirmed to AFP that the two new direct lines to Kigali and Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, will be served three times a week by EgyptAir from Cairo.
This announcement was made on the sidelines of a visit by Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, Younis Al-Masry, to Cairo International Airport on Thursday.
In the press, the minister said that the civil aviation sector in Egypt is working on projects “to strengthen future cooperation with African countries” on a continental scale.
EgyptAir already operates several direct lines to African countries, such as Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa.
When touring four African countries in 2017 (Chad, Rwanda, Tanzania, Gabon), Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi pleaded for increased cooperation between the African continent and its country.
