In Brussels, Saturday, a hundred Rwandan opponents gathered before the European institutions, with the aim of drawing the attention of the European Union to the mysterious disappearance of Boniface Twagirimana on 8 October in Rwanda.

Boniface Twagirimana is the Vice President of the FDU opposition party of Victoire Ingabire.

In the meantime FDU Inkingi is not a registered Party in Rwanda and it is operating outside the country.

Incarcerated for a year, Boniface Twagirimana had just been transferred to a penitentiary center in the south of the country, RFI reports.

Officials in Kigali said  Twagirimana has escaped and investigation and search of him has started. But the militants of his party lean for the thesis of an abduction.

“It is also a way of saying that we do not believe in the official version which is now defended by the Rwandan government and which the European Union seems to accommodate,” One of the party member told RFI.
