Cooperation between Russia and Rwanda in Nuclear energy

On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, Russia and the Republic of Rwanda signed an intergovernmental framework agreement in the field of Nuclear energy in Moscow.

Indeed, this agreement ” will serve as a starting point for an active dialogue between the two countries in the nuclear field and will allow to start the implementation of specific cooperation projects ”, welcomed Rosatom, the Russian atomic energy Agency, in a statement.

The partnership agreement provides for assistance in the construction and improvement of Rwanda’s nuclear infrastructure, while respecting international standards, regulations in the field of radiation protection and nuclear safety, and education. and continuing training of personnel for the nuclear industry.

“We are pleased to share with our Rwandan partners over 70 years of experience in the peaceful use of atomic energy and we hope that our cooperation will contribute to Rwanda’s economic growth and the improvement of the quality of life of its population, “said the Director General of Rosatom
