Abidjan – The Ivorian head of state, Alassane Ouattara, concluded on Wednesday in Abidjan, four major cooperation agreements with his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, who has since made a 48-hour visit to Côte d’Ivoire.

The first agreement concerns the reciprocal exemption from the 90-day procedure and visa requirement for entry, transit and residence for nationals of both countries holding diplomatic, service or ordinary passports.

A signed memorandum of understanding will define the functional legal framework of this bilateral relationship through the organization of the joint cooperation commission, for a better implementation of programs and projects of cooperation, economic, scientific and technical.

Another agreement establishes regular political consultations between the two countries on issues of mutual interest.

The modernization of the public administration, a final point of the agreements, should make it possible to define a framework of cooperation and mutual exchanges, to enhance the interconnection between the public administrations, the e-administrative procedures and the virtual single window.
