New Zealand MP, delegation off to Ethiopia, Rwanda and Turkey

Tauranga-based MP Angie Warren-Clark is off on a two-week parliamentary relationship-building trip overseas.

Warren-Clark, who is a Labour List MP, will travel with a delegation of MPs led by Speaker Trevor Mallard to Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Turkey.

The group, which also included MPs Dr Nick Smith (National), Nicky Wagner (National), and Gareth Hughes (Green), will leave on Saturday.

The group’s focus was on forging new parliamentary relationships and advocating for better business, education, and cultural ties.

Mallard said in a statement it would be the first time a New Zealand Speaker had led a delegation to Ethiopia and Rwanda.

Mallard said the group will take part in commemoration events for the 25th anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide.

The group will be in Turkey for Anzac commemorations and return on April 26.
