Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge is closing on Gor Mahia great goalscorers after hitting his 60th goal for Gor Mahia in their Tuesday win over Bandari FC.
The solo strike in Kisumu did not only earn his side maximum points but ensured the Hassan Oktay coached side perched a top of the Kenyan Premier League log having played three games less than their close challengers.
With the 60 goals, only five payers in the Gor Mahia history has scored more than the Rwanda national team captain and any goal in the next series of fixtures should put him in the bracket of the greats that have adorned the green jersey.
Leading the Gor Mahia all-time scorers list in official competitions is Sammy Onyango ‘Jogoo’ who bagged 93 goals. In the secod position in matters scoring goals is Allan Thigo who had 88 goals, Hesbon Omollo (84), Peter Dawo (68) and George Yoga (61) comes third, fourth and fifth respectively.
Tuyisenge joined Gor Mahia in 2016 from Police FC of Rwanda this after leading his side in the CHAN competition that was hosted in his country.
With his consistent ability to find the back of the net, the striker is believed to be attracting interest from various teams across the continent with AS Vita touted as his next possible destination.
