Seven Heads of State arrive in Rwanda for 4th July Celebration

Rwanda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that seven Heads of States will join Rwandans in Kigali to mark the 25th Anniversary of Rwanda’s liberation.

Confirmed to attend are: Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé, Hage Geingob of Namibia, Faustin-Archange Touadéra of Centrafrique, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed of Somalia, Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana and Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone.

There are also Nigerian Vice President  Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Prime Minister of  Tanzania Kassim Majaliwa and the Second Prime Minister of Uganda who is also in charge of East African Affairs Dr Ali Kirunda Kivenjija.

Other dignitaries from around the world will be also present at the ceremony which takes place on 4th July 2019 at the National Stadium in Kigali.

This year’s liberation anniversary will be marked under the theme, “Together We Prosper”.

Rwanda’s Liberation war put an end to the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi. The War was led by the Former Rwanda Patriotic Army now Rwanda Defense Forces.
