Kagame Joins other Head of States in Angola for a Regional Security Summit

President Paul Kagame has arrived in Angola on Friday, July 12, 2019 following the invitation of Angola’s President to discuss security issues in the Great Lakes Region.

Uganda and DRC Head of States also Invited by President João Lourenço.

TOPAFRICANEWS can’t independently confirm the sideline meeting between President Kagame and his Ugandan Counterpart Yoweli Museveni on the diplomatic spats between the two East African Nations.

However, CGTN Africa reports that Rwandan President Paul Kagame and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni are on Friday expected to shed more light on the political tensions affecting their countries when they meet in Angola for talks on security matters in the Great Lakes.

Sources told this website that the Luanda summit will discuss security matters as well as eradication of armed groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Notorious armed Groups in DRC include P5 fighters of Kayumba Nyamwasa (Rwandan), Uganda’s Lord Resistance Army fighters, Burundian Rebels as well as FDLR and other militias from DRC
