Africa Arise and Shine Conference concludes with transformed mindset
Kigali August 11th, Authentic Word Ministries has concluded the 20th Edition of Africa Arise and Shine conference that was held from 4 to 11 August 2019 in Kigali.
20 years of its inception Africa Arise and Shine Initiative has become peripheral to the concept of embracing Godly values to accelerate Africa’s Transformation, Dr. Apostle Paul Muhirwa Gitwaza, President of Authentic Word Ministries told the concluding session of Africa Arise and Shine conference Sunday, 11 August.
The conference witnessed participation of about 10000 delegates from different corners of the world.
During the conference workshops for different spheres of influence namely Business, Religion, Media, Entertainment, Family, Education and leadership were held with attendance of over six hundred people every day for five days. The discussion during the workshop rotated around embracing Godly values to transform Africa.
The speakers also joined students in University of Rwanda to discuss on how to develop the continent using their skills with foundation on Godly values.
Seven spheres of influence is a sociological model that explains that the world is influenced by spheres where decisions are taken.
Over ten thousand people have attended the revival conference where speakers challenged the attendants to have impact in their society so they can take Africa to another level.
“I have seen workshops being done to train younger generation and all Christians to have an impact in the society. When I see that I say there is hope for Africa. I travel in many many nations of the world and what I have seen here I have not seen in other places” says Apostle Alain Caron one of the speakers and senior pastor of Le Chemin Apostolic Center.
Organized by Authentic Word Ministries, parent organization of Zion Temple Celebration Center, the weeklong summit will be held under the theme, “Africa! Bring forth true worshippers”, and was drawn from Zephaniah 3:10
The speakers this year included a team of Christ centered highly skilled scientists from Corning Incorporated, an American multinational technology company that specializes in specialty glass, ceramics, and related materials and technologies including advanced optics, primarily for industrial and scientific applications.
Among the team include Dr. Shandon Hart, an inventor on 40 granted patents and 87 published or pending patent applications in the United States. Dr. Ben Leong, an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore and Eng. Eric Biribuze who was awarded Black Engineer of the year 2018.
Apostle Gitwaza believes that “Transforming Africa is not only a responsibility for politicians, business people and educationalists but it is also the Church’s responsibility to develop the continent. We do understand that the journey will be long and tedious but we believe that it will be achieved by combining efforts in Jesus Christ’s name.”
The annual conference attracts delegates from different countries across Africa, including Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, Botswana, Uganda, South Africa, Botswana and Ghana. Other participants are from USA, UK, Italy, Belgium, USA, Canada and India.
Authentic Word Ministries has different developmental activities including a health care center: “Bethsaida”, schools “Authentic International Academy” and “Authentic Kingdom University”; and media houses Authentic Radio and Television; and Africa Arise and Shine Initiative.
