Kigali: Salesians of Don Bosco host a seminar on Youth and Christus Vivit

From September 8th to 10th, 2019, the Salesians of Don Bosco in the Africa of Great Lakes (AGL) are hosting a seminar dedicated to the Youth and Christus Vivit (Christ is alive!).

Christus vivit is a post-synodal apostolic exhortation of Pope Francis, written in response to the Fifteenth Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, on young people, faith and vocational discernment.

Seminar was officially launched by the Bishop of Byumba Dioscese His Excellency Mgr NZAMWITA Servilien

In the Letter Pope Francis wrote “Dear young people, my joyful hope is to see you keep running the race before you, outstripping all those who are slow or fearful. Keep running, “attracted by the face of Christ, whom we love so much, whom we adore in the Holy Eucharist and acknowledge in the flesh of our suffering brothers and sisters. May the Holy Spirit urge you on as you run this race. The Church needs your momentum, your intuitions, and your faith. We need them! And when you arrive where we have not yet reached, have the patience to wait for us”

After this letter published in March this year, the Salesians of Don Bosco in Africa of Great Lakes organized the seminar on “Youth and Christus Vivit” held in Kigali at Don Bosco Provincial House. The AGL Provincial House welcomes about 130 people from the region. Among them are Lay people, Salesians and their families, Priests and religious.

Theme:  “What Evangelization for Today’s Young People?  Re-reading and the Pastoral Impact of the Post- Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit (Christ is alive!) “, this seminar is an opportunity for young people and Church members to reflect on the current challenges of Youth Evangelization in the Great Lakes Region from a contextualized reading of Pope Francis’ Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation.

Preceded by the Eucharistic Celebration, The three Day Seminar was officially launched by the Bishop of Byumba Dioscese His Excellency Mgr NZAMWITA Servilien.
