Hotel St. Andre Kabgayi pledges to Diversify Leisure activities
The Kabgayi Diocese Administration through the Hotel St. Andre Kabgayi has promised that it will do whatever possible to put Hotel St. Andre among the first attractive Hotel in Rwanda, TOPAFRICANEWS reports.
This was announced on Saturday, 5th October 2019 during the official opening of the Hotel’s sport complex which locates at Kabgayi not far from the Hotel premises.
The complex is made of the Semi-Olympic swimming pool which is open to the General public, Beach-Volley ball ground, Tennis ground and Garden for Kids among others.
The opening ceremony was graced by various officials from the church, Government officials and residents who came from nearby neighborhood.
Speaking at the event before cutting the ribbon, Msgr. Smaragde Mbonyintege, the Catholic Bishop of Kabgayi said that the sport complex is part of bringing leisure to citizens which is part of also building healthy persons.
“We don’t need only infrastructure development, but also we need healthy people with no stress.” Mbonyintege said.
The Southern Province Governor Emmanuel Gasana who was the guest of honor commended the church for such activity adding that “people used to do sport (running, football.) only and now this time we have public swimming pool.”
Gasana added “If I am not mistaken, this is the largest Swimming pool in Southern province.”
He calls on the other District mayors in the Southern province to work with investors and put in place various infrastructures as part of the development of the second Cities in Rwanda.
Hotel St. Andre Kabgayi locates in Muhanga District which is among the six other second cities of Rwanda.
The Hotel’s General Manager Fr. Joseph Nzasingizimana noted that “those who will use the sport complex will not only be enjoying leisure but also will be supporting the Hotel to fight against unemployment.”
Fr, Nzasingizimana explained that the Hotel employed about 200 people during the construction works.
He added that the complex was constructed as part diversifying leisure activities as well as hospitality business expansion.
Hotel St. Andre Kabgayi which is a three Stars Hotel employs over 100 permanent staff.
