At Kabgayi Post-noviciat, Salesians have finalized the construction of new water well for the young people who regularly attend the oratory services as well as students and their leaders who live at the Post-novitiat compound.

The completed water project includes the drilling of a new well and the installation of an electric pump supported by two solar panels and three water tanks.

Brother Diomede Havyarimana, the Kabgayi Post-noviciat Economer explained that apart from serving the novices and House coordinators, the new well provides water to the young people who participate in the activities of the oratory and even to the neighboring population suffering from the lack of drinking water.

According to the available statistics, more than a thousand young people regularly come to  the place for sports activities such as karate, football, modern and traditional dance, various sports activities and even for the religious services provided to the oratory.

Brother Habyarimana noted that due to the physical exercises, young people need water to drink as well to wash after exercises. Funded through the Salesian Planning and Development Office, this project is a solution in terms of access to drinking water and even hygiene for young people who participate in the oratory activities.

The Kabgayi Post-noviciat compound occupies an important space which houses the accommodation, the multipurpose room, the courtyards, the various buildings of different services and even the Chappelle Marie Auxiliatrice which serves the local population who came there for Eucharistic celebrations.
