Israel Embassy donates Food to Rwandans affected by COVID 19 Lockdown

H.E. Ambassador of Israel to Rwanda, Dr. Ron Adam donated this Friday morning, almost 4 tons of beans, rice and corn flour worth 3 million RWF to the people in need in Kigali.

The contribution was given on behalf of the Israeli Agency for International Cooperation and Aid, MASHAV and was channeled through a local NGO Inspire Women for Development and Tabara program which was established especially for this purpose by Mr. Tamir Sher, an Israeli who lives in Rwanda.

The sacks of dry food were brought Friday morning by trucks to the main governmental distribution center in Kicukiro District, and they were handed to the Kigali stores manager.

” Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, too many people in Kigali became jobless in the services industry and construction as well as the motos.

“I am glad to take at least a small part in the Government’s effort to give basic food to those on need in Kigali”, said Ambassador Dr. Ron Adam.

”The Embassy of the State of Israel to Rwanda will continue to work with her sister country Rwanda to strengthen our bilateral cooperation for the good of the citizens of our countries. We take this opportunity to comfort Rwandans during this period of commemoration, #Kwibuka26. We stand with Rwanda, pray for the healing of survivors, and for Never Again!”, he added.
