Major Step Forward for KIFC as Rwanda Prepares to Sign the OECD’s Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters

Rwanda is embarking on a new, exciting journey as it gets ready to sign the OECD’s Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters (MAAC) and expand its international network of information exchange partners.

Through this signing, Rwanda’s financial sector and more specifically the Kigali International Financial Centre (KIFC) will be positioned as tools to reinforce Rwanda’s commitment to implementing internationally agreed standards on transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes. It will also highlight the benefits of engaging a new cooperative tax environment that is concerned with fulfilling international standards

H.E. Dr François Xavier Ngarambe, Ambassador of Rwanda in France will attend a signing ceremony at the OECD headquarters in Paris on 11 August. During the signing, the officials present will discuss the scope of the convention whilst in Rwanda, concurrent discussions will take place regarding KIFC’s activation role in strategically delivering the letters of the convention.
