Kayonza: Belgian ambassador visited activities that promote tourism and protect the environment

The Belgian Ambassador to Rwanda, Bert Versmessen, visited activities to promote tourism and protect the environment in Rwinkwavu sector.

The activities visited on the 07th of February 2023 include the project called ‘Kids Project Nyankora’, which seeks to strengthening tourism based on culture while protecting the environment, helping early impregnated girls , fighting malnutrition among children, helping disadvantaged children by giving them school uniforms and even helping them to pay for meals at school, entertainment as a platform to promote the talents of young people among others.

Ambassador Bert Versmessen said that he and his entourage would like this project to establish a standard in tourism, and to help promote good tourism activities and Environment Protection.

TOP AFRICA NEWS has learnt that there is an organization in Belgium called ‘Nyankora Foundation’ which collects funds, and these funds will be sent to the children of Nyankora so that they can learn and get out of poverty.

The Mayor of KAYONZA District said that “”All this is to promote tourism so that those who come here will leave the money to help improve the welfare of children or their parents. What we will add is cooperation so that the tourism hub can teach vocational skills to the beneficiaries.”
