VIDEO: Educating Post-Genocide Generation for NEVER AGAIN to Genocide

Rwanda wants a united Generation, responsible for their dignity, the dignity of the country and a Generation who refer to the history of the past in order to shape their own better future and even for the future Generations to follow.

This was announced by young trainees at Peace Education Initiative Rwanda (Peacedu) which is a non-governmental organization engaged and dedicated in preventing genocide and mass atrocities through Education.

Albert Rutikanga – The Founder and Executive Director said that this Organization is focused on teaching human rights, peace education, and genocide studies with a great emphasis on Holocaust and 1994 Genocide against Tutsi to build a tolerant society with the hope of a better future without hatred.

Speaking TOPAFRICANEWS, on Tuesday, Rutikanga explained how the organization’s approach will help Post Genocide Generation seen as the foundation of the Society’s better future as explained in the video bellow.

The organization which was founded in 2015 by professional and motivated Rwandan teachers who are engaged in healing wounds caused by the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi, currently have established 82 Clubs across Rwanda.

Despite efforts and contribution so far made by the organization, Post-Genocide Generation needs a robust and strong foundation laid with the commitments and vows of Never Again to Genocide, Mass atrocities and other human rights violations.

After the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi, Rwanda faced various consequences inherited from the Genocide.

Millions of Rwandans have fled the country; over a million of Rwandans were killed and needed a decent burial. The Genocide against Tutsi left thousands of orphans who were forced to take over the parental responsibilities while they were in need of parental care, among many consequences.

The Government put more efforts in bringing again together a broken society which has since then reconstructed itself and decided to commit to three choices:  Stay together, to be accountable to ourselves, we chose to think big.

For President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Young Generation born before the Genocide and after need to be inherited a better Rwanda than the Rwanda “We inherited.”
