French MP born in Kigali will represent Macron at the Commemoration of the Genocide Against the Tutsi

TOPAFRICANEWS has learned that a French Member of Parliament born in Kigali will represent Macron at the Commemoration of the Genocide Against the Tutsi

He should be, after Nicolas Sarkozy, the second French president to visit Kigali since the genocide.

But Emmanuel Macron invited by Paul Kagame, choses not to go to Kigali for the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the 1994 genocide against Tutsi, reports Africanews.com

The French president, who has not mentioned the reasons for not going to Kigali, will be represented on April 7 in the Rwandan capital by the young MP Hervé Berville, born in Kigali, the news website reports

Hervé Berville is a French economist and politician. He was elected to the French National Assembly on 18 June 2017, representing the department of Côtes-d’Armor for La République En Marche!, the centrist party founded by the current French President Emmanuel Macron. He’s also spokesperson of this party.
