Tshisekedi sends special team to Italy after Italian ambassador killed in DR Congo

The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, is set to send a delegation to Italy, following the death of the Italian Ambassador to the DRC, Luca Attanasio.
Italy’s ambassador to the DRC, Luca Attanasio, was assassinated on February 22, 2021, by gunmen said to be the FDRL despite the ongoing investigation.
President Tshisekedi via Twitter condemned the killings, saying those responsible should be held accountable.
In a statement issued by the President’s Office, President Tshisekedi on Tuesday sent an envoy to Italy with a letter to the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi.
“The President’s envoy will visit Italy on Tuesday, February 23, in connection with a personal letter for the Prime Minister.”
In addition to the letter President Tshisekedi sent to the Italian Prime Minister, his office also announced that they were going to send a team to Goma where Ambassador Luca Attanasio was shot to assist in the investigation.
