Rwanda reopens all schools including Nursery Schools

The Rwandan Government has allowed all schools in Kigali City to reopen after five weeks of closure due to the coronavirus.
Children in kindergarten through the third year of primary school across the country have also returned to school after more than 11 months at home due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Ministry of Education announces that there will be no gaps and that the course schedule will be prepared according to the timing of each phase.
A seemingly difficult issue in this sub-school is the succession of primary school children who have to start the first year with others who started last year in 2020 and cancel classes shortly after starting. Schools Management said they are well prepared to deal with such situation.
On the first day of school reopening parents seemed to be confused about where their children were studying and some of the children had forgotten the teachers who were teaching them before the COVID 19 pandemic erupted.
On the first day of the school opening, Rwanda’s Minister of Education Dr Uwamariya Valentine visited the GS Remera Catholic School to interact with the students on schools reopening and to remind them to follow the guidelines and measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.
She reminded them that they have to reach home early because they can get infected on the way home when they meet a lot of people where it would be difficult to ensure physical distancing.
“You see that the children were thirsty to study on the first day, usually on the first day there were not many children, but now you come to school and find the children are so many,” the education minister said.
