Wage Increase Likely Good News for Struggling Japanese

Japan announced on Tuesday that it would raise its minimum wage in 2022 to help low-income households deal with inflation. In 2021, nearly one in five Japanese (18%) in the poorest 20% of households said there were times in the past year when they could not afford food they needed.
