Minister Utumatwishima: Rwanda’s Leadership Makes Dreams Possible
In the discussion that aimed to examine how the youth are ready to fight for the unity and development of the country.
Minister of Youth and Arts Development, Dr. Abdallah UTUMATWISHIMA, told the participants of the Second Day of the 19th National Dialogue Council (Umushyikirano) that for those who grew up in 1994, in the country’s battle for liberation, life was difficult and there was no hope of survival.
He said, “At that time, no one could imagine what it was like to study, because there were some areas where people were allowed to study while others were not allowed. It was like a dream to think you would develop when you came from the poorest family.”
Dr. Utumatwishima continued, saying that after liberation, a lot has changed now that Rwanda has a leadership that can make you get what you never dreamed of.
He said, “When I try to analyze it, the government of Rwanda, led by the honorable president of the Republic, has been built in these 30 years; it’s the leadership that can make you get what you never dreamed of, like others who tell us that people will see when they reach heaven.”
“This is the sign of this leadership; the last 30 years are the sign that in Rwanda, anything is possible as long as you are alive.”
He concluded by saying that he would like the youth of this generation to join together in fighting the problem of poverty.
