As of today, VGA has passed over 3 million homes across the SSA region. However, the gap between “homes passed” and active subscribers highlights the challenges in driving adoption. 12% of the premises passed by the group have effectively been converted into active subscribers. VGA’s growth potential relies on its ability to reach more homes, but also to convert those into long-term clients.
The company’s performance in the fiber segment varies significantly by market. VGA has been able to reach a dominant position in emerging fiber markets, notably Togo, Gabon and Burkina Faso. On the other side, markets like Uganda and Rwanda are still in very early development stages, and in Ivory Coast, where fiber subscribers reached 400,000 by the end of 2024, VGA remains significantly overshadowed by its competitor Orange. |
