The Alliance Fleuve Congo (AFC/M23) has issued a strong condemnation of the United Nations (UN) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) forces for their continued collaboration with genocidal groups in the ongoing conflict in the region. Despite previous appeals to refrain from intervening in the war imposed upon them by the forces of the Kinshasa regime, the AFC/M23 has noticed that their calls have not been respected.
In a recent statement, the AFC/M23 reiterated that any involvement, collaboration, or support by the UN and SADC forces in the conflict will be met with legitimate self-defense measures by their organization. The AFC/M23 also called on the Congolese population to remain calm and prepare to welcome their forces, which are dedicated to bringing peace and stability to the region.
The AFC/M23 expressed concern over the suffering of the people of Goma, who have been caught in the crossfire of the conflict. They denounced the collaboration between MONUSCO and genocidal groups, which has resulted in attacks on civilian areas and AFC/M23 positions, putting countless lives at risk.
Despite these challenges, the AFC/M23 remains committed to liberating their compatriots in Goma and restoring security and dignity to the Congolese people. They urged the international community to support their efforts for peace and stability in the region.
