YouTube Crosses $60 Billion in 2025 Revenue, But Market Share Continues to Slip

24 February, 2026—Alphabet, the parent company of Google, announced that its total annual revenues surpassed a landmark USD 400 billion in 2025. A key driver of this growth was YouTube, which crossed the USD 60 billion mark in combined revenue from advertising and subscriptions for the year.
CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted the video platform’s financial performance, noting that YouTube’s advertising business alone generated USD 40.4 billion. The remaining approximately USD 20 billion was attributed to subscription services, including YouTube Premium, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV, though Alphabet does not fully segment these figures.
Despite its impressive financial growth, the Dataxis Research Highlight report points to a worrying trend for the video giant: it “keeps losing ground in the global video market.” This is underscored by the platform’s advertising revenue as a share of Alphabet’s total revenues, which saw a slight decrease from 10.33% in 2024 to 10.02% in 2025, suggesting other segments of Alphabet’s business are growing at a faster rate or that YouTube’s competitors are gaining traction.
The results, analyzed by Dataxis Analyst, indicate that while YouTube remains an undisputed financial powerhouse, the intensifying competition in the digital video space is making the battle for global market share increasingly challenging.
