First Lady Melania Trump Launches ‘Fostering the Future Together’ Coalition at Inaugural Global Summit

Washington, D.C. – March 25, 2026 – First Lady Melania Trump welcomed leaders from 45 member nations and top technology companies to the U.S. Department of State yesterday for the inaugural summit of her new global initiative, “Fostering the Future Together.” The two-day summit, which continues today at the White House, is focused on advancing technology and education to empower the next generation.
In her opening remarks, the First Lady stressed the importance of global collaboration, stating, “Beginning today, let’s accelerate our new global alliance—this bond—to positively impact the progress of our children.” The coalition’s core mission is to empower children by expanding access to educational tools, strengthening protections in digital environments, and cultivating the skills young people need to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
The summit convened a diverse delegation, including government leaders, first spouses, and representatives from leading American tech firms such as OpenAI, Palantir, xAI, Google, Meta, Adobe, Microsoft, and Zoom Communications. Participants engaged in a series of discussions centered on four key areas: EdTech Tools, Artificial Intelligence in Education, Safety and Protection Online, and Digital Literacy.
The First Lady called on coalition members to take action, inviting them to host regional meetings, conduct research studies, and advance new partnerships to turn the initiative’s vision into tangible results. “Our shared vision prioritizes children above political philosophy, geographical borders, and local prejudices,” she noted.
The gathering marks the first large-scale, in-person meeting of the Fostering the Future Together coalition since its launch announcement at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025. Countries from across the globe, including numerous African nations like Burundi, Cabo Verde, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and Sierra Leone, were represented at the historic event.
