TOPAFRICANEWS hits a record of Popularity after three months
KIGALI: 27TH AUGUST, 2018: TOPAFRICANEWS.COM has hit a record of Popularity after three months since it was launched.
According to Alexa.com, TOPAFRICANEWS.COM is ranked among top 30 popular Rwandan News Websites.
Alexa.com is a global pioneer in the world of websites analytical insight whose global traffic rank is a measure of how a website is doing relative to all other sites on the web over the past 3 months.
The rank is calculated using a proprietary methodology that combines a site’s estimated average of daily unique visitors and its estimated number of page views over the past 3 months.
It also provides a similar country-specific ranking, which is a measurement of how a website ranks in a particular country relative to other sites over the past month.
In only three months since its launch, TOPAFRICANEWS is ranked at 29th Position among 75 News Website that are registered by Rwanda Media Commission.
However many news websites operating in Rwanda are not registered or recognized by the Media Commission.
Among 75 registered News Websites as of July, 2018, about 34 of them are not ranked by Alexa.com due to insufficient information or inoperativeness.
Top Seven News Websites in Rwanda are: IGIHE, INYARWANDA, UMURYANGO, UMUSEKE, RUHAGOYACU, KIGALI TODAY and BWIZA as ranked in their respective order.
TOPAFRICANEWS.COM is ranked in the category of 15 News website which include other Website like NONAHA, UBUMWE, PANORAMA, YEEJO, INGUFU, THE SOURCE POST, IMPAMBA, RWANDASPORT, GREATLAKESVOICE, AFRICANPEOPLESVOICE, MENYANIBI, IBIGANZABYIMPUHWE, HANGA, and RWANDAINSPIRER.
However, the Website is the Third Popular English News Website in Rwanda preceded by KT PRESS and TAARIFA.
Here some other Websites that Publish News in English are not included because in their Business Status most of them are Newspaper Publications though they have online platforms.

“Today we are living in the world of competition. If you look well the other News Websites are between three to Nine years old since they started operating,” He added.
