USAID Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick Discusses Digital Development and 5G Telecommunications Technology in Virtual Roundtable with Donors

On July 29, 2020, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick hosted a virtual roundtable with senior government officials from like-minded countries today to coordinate efforts to promote the deployment of secure, open, reliable 5G infrastructure for digital development in emerging economies.

USAID seeks to enhance collaboration with partners to build open, transparent, and trusted digital networks, including secure and reliable 5G infrastructure, which is an Administration priority. Trusted and transparent digital telecommunications are integral to sharing economic opportunities widely, promoting citizen-responsive governance, and advancing our national security.

Participating in the virtual discussion were representatives of the European Commission and the Governments of Australia; the Republics of Finland, India, and Korea; the Federal Republic of Germany; the State of Israel; Japan; and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
