Mbaza System Launched to Transform Service Delivery in Northern Rwanda

In a decisive move to strengthens citizen engagement and improving public service delivery, leaders in Northern Rwanda have officially launched the Mbaza system, a digital platform designed to bring government closer to the people and ensure that every voice is heard and acted upon.

Community assemblies marking a significant moment of interaction between citizens and their leaders. The highlight of the gathering took place in Kabirizi Cell, Gacaca Sector, where the Governor of the Northern Province, Mugabowagahunde Maurice, alongside the District Mayor, Nsengimana Claudien, joined residents to officially launch the Mbaza system.

The Mbaza system represents a transformative approach to governance, aiming to streamline communication between citizens and authorities. In his address, Governor Mugabowagahunde emphasized that the platform will play a critical role in improving service delivery by enabling citizens to submit their concerns directly and track the progress of their resolution. He urged residents to actively embrace the system, noting that its success depends on consistent public participation and trust in the process.

“The Mbaza system is not just a tool, it is a bridge between leadership and citizens, it will help us ensure that no concern goes unheard and no problem remains unresolved.” He stated

Echoing this message, Mayor Nsengimana Claudien encouraged residents to take responsibility for their future by actively participating in national development programs. He particularly highlighted the importance of saving through the EjoHeza scheme, describing it as a pathway to financial security and long-term stability. He also called on citizens to embrace the “Yongere Ni Ayawe” initiative, which encourages individuals to increase their contributions according to their capacity, reinforcing a culture of self-reliance and resilience.

The meeting served as an open platform for dialogue. Citizens were given the opportunity to express their views, raise concerns, and ask questions directly to their leaders. Several issues were addressed on the spot, while others were carefully documented and assigned clear follow-up mechanisms, demonstrating a commitment to accountability and responsiveness.

The launch of the Mbaza system signals a new era in local governance defined by transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity. By integrating technology into public service delivery, authorities are not only addressing existing challenges but also laying the foundation for a more responsive and citizen-centered administration.
