Through hands-on exposure in a real hospitality environment, students have an opportunity to complement classroom learning with practical experience in areas related to hospitality operations, food preparation, culinary services, customer care and other professional skills.
Father Servilien Ufitamahoro, Director of Don Bosco Green Park, said the new name reflects both the character of the facility and its wider mission.

“The name Don Bosco Green Park better represents what this place is today and what we want it to become. It is a place of hospitality, but also a place where people meet, celebrate, rest, participate in activities and enjoy a peaceful environment. At the same time, it gives young people an opportunity to gain practical experience and prepare themselves for their future careers,” Father Ufitamahoro said.
He emphasized that the connection between hospitality services and youth training is an important aspect of the facility’s mission.
“We want our young people to learn not only from books and classrooms, but also through practical experience. Don Bosco Green Park provides an environment where students from Don Bosco Gatenga TSS can apply what they learn in Hotels, Food and Beverages and Culinary Arts while developing the discipline, confidence and professional skills required in the hospitality industry,” he said.
The rebranding comes as Don Bosco Green Park seeks to strengthen its visibility and make its range of services more accessible to the wider community.
The facility offers comfortable accommodation and spaces suitable for retreats, meetings, prayer, social gatherings and recreational activities.

For young people undergoing hospitality training, the facility provides an important link between education and the workplace. The practical exposure is intended to help students understand the expectations of the hospitality industry while building skills that can support future employment and entrepreneurship.

Father Ufitamahoro said the Centre’s vision goes beyond providing services.
“Hospitality is about welcoming people, creating good experiences and serving with professionalism. By connecting our hospitality activities with the formation of young people, we are creating an environment where service and education come together. We hope that every visitor who comes to Green Park can enjoy our services while also contributing, directly or indirectly, to the formation of the next generation of hospitality professionals,” he said.
The transition from Don Bosco Hospitality Centre Kigali to Don Bosco Green Park represents an evolution of the facility’s public identity while maintaining its commitment to hospitality, community and youth development.
