He represented the Kigali Financial Centre and outlined Rwanda’s strategy to grow an emerging financial hub. The audience included marketing professionals and regional policymakers.
His remarks framed Kigali as a growing center for finance and related services, showcasing progress and plans. The briefing emphasized Rwanda’s commitment to building infrastructure, improving regulatory environments, and attracting investment and talent. Moreover, she told delegates that a strong brand can convert potential into active participation and value for an emerging centre.
Rumongi pointed to the Inclusive FinTech Forum as a practical example of convening power.
The event, organized with Rwanda’s central bank and international partners, brings together ideas, capital, technology and opportunity. Additionally, it creates partnerships and keeps momentum moving.
The conference, hosted at the Avani Victoria Falls Resort from 23 to 25 September, gathered marketing leaders. It focused on turning Africa’s strengths, cultural capital and creativity into a global advantage. Kigali Financial Centre was cited as a regional benchmark for finance and innovation ecosystems.
Sessions examined how marketing leadership and brand power create value. They discussed practical approaches to align messaging and partnerships with growth. The discussions emphasized sustainable development across the continent. Participants noted the need for regional collaboration and clear metrics.
KIFC, launched in 2020, works to position Rwanda as a gateway for financial services and investment into Africa by promoting targeted initiatives, shaping national policy, fostering regional collaboration, and building skilled capacity across sectors.
Rumongi’s remarks framed branding not as promotion alone but as a strategic, long-term tool for connecting regional markets, stimulating investor interest, encouraging collaboration, and generating broad participation across Rwanda and neighboring economies within the continent, sustainably over time, for growth.
