Kigali Genocide Memorial recently had the pleasure of hosting actor Morgan Freeman at the Kigali Genocide Memorial. After his visit, he shared a powerful message about what he learned from his time in Rwanda:
“What we have learned makes us feel very, and more, proud to know you, and number two, very hopeful for the future of humanity, because what you have accomplished as a result of the Genocide, as a result of reconciliation, makes us all feel that peace is possible.”
This message is at the core of KGM education programmes. Every year, thousands of students visit the memorial to learn about the causes, reality and consequences of genocide and how they can be ambassadors for peace and humanity, wherever they live.
I invite you to watch Morgan Freeman’s heartfelt message below.2
