People and Disabilities: U.S Ambassador to Rwanda reveals one of his Passions
The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is an international human rights treaty of the United Nations intended to protect the rights and dignity of people with disabilities.
Parties to the Convention are required to promote, protect, and ensure the full enjoyment of human rights by people with disabilities and ensure that they enjoy full equality under the law.
In Rwanda, there are still some civil society organizations that are yet to understand the strengths of People with Disabilities while there also many that have discovered the PWDs potential.
The U.S Government through the USAID is one of the biggest advocates of Persons with Disabilities.
It is very hard to see an American Funded Project that is not considering the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.
