Nelly Mukazayire Appointed Rwanda’s New Minister of Sports

President Paul Kagame appointed Nelly Mukazayire as Rwanda’s new Minister of Sports. She replaces Eng. Richard NYIRISHEMA.
Her appointment was announced in a communiqué released by the office of the Prime Minister on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Meanwhile, Eng. Richard NYIRISHEMA was appointed as the Executive Chairperson of Rwanda Water Resources Board.
Nelly Mukazayire, 42, is an experienced Rwandan economist and public administrator. She was serving as the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Sports (MINISPORTS) before her appointment on Friday.
She previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Convention Bureau, a division of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), where in March 2023, was promoted to the Deputy CEO of RDB. She also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the President and a Senior Advicer to the Chief of Staff.
