Rwanda is showcasing its distinctive specialty coffee to international buyers and industry players in Japan, seeking to strengthen its presence in global markets and expand opportunities for the country’s coffee exporters.
The country is participating in the SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition 2026, taking place in Japan from October 14 to 17, where it is promoting the quality and unique characteristics of Rwandan coffee through exhibitions and tasting sessions.
The Rwandan delegation includes the Chief Operations Officer of the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), Rwanda’s Ambassador to Japan, and coffee exporters, who are working together to present the country’s coffee to a global audience.
Through coffee displays and tasting sessions, the delegation is giving international buyers and other stakeholders an opportunity to experience the distinctive qualities of Rwandan coffee, while creating a platform for engagement with potential business partners.
The participation is aimed at connecting Rwandan coffee with international buyers, strengthening relationships with existing and prospective partners, and creating opportunities for exporters to explore new markets.
The SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition is an important gathering for the specialty coffee industry, bringing together coffee producers, exporters, buyers, roasters and other professionals to exchange knowledge, showcase products and explore business opportunities.
For Rwanda, participation in the event provides an opportunity to increase the visibility of its coffee in Japan and other international markets, while highlighting the country’s position as a supplier of specialty coffee.
By bringing together public-sector representatives, diplomatic officials and private exporters, Rwanda is using the international platform to promote its coffee and build connections that could support the growth of its coffee export sector.
