Goma Mini-Summit: President Kagame supports idea of ​​videoconference meeting

The Rwandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation informs the Democratic Republic of Congo, of ​​Pesident Paul Kagame’s position regarding the mini-summit in Goma, organized by Félix Tshisekedi, Congolese President.

According to the document, the Rwandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that ”Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda (…) would like to favor a mini-summit by videoconference for a date to be agreed by the parties concerned, given the current situation of covid-19 ″.


On this, Rwanda also recommends “a physical meeting” at the beginning of 2021 underlines this correspondence signed on September 17 and addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DRC.

Already, the DRC via a press release, the Minister of Foreign Affairs announced the holding of this Mini-summit by videoconference “at an early date due to the constraints due to Covid19”.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo takes this opportunity to thank the sister republics of Angola, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda for their collaboration in the preparatory work of feasibility studies for said mini Summit which led to the above-mentioned decision, ”said Marie Ntumba Nzeza in the press release.

The main stake of this meeting between heads of state of the sub-region remains security in the sub-region.
