Various decisions by Moroccan Samir Guezzaz were echoed by a number of people, some of whom accused him of being biased in favour of Guinea.
What caught the attention of many was a red card given to goalkeeper Kwizera Olivier for which he was accused of misbehaving with Yakhouba Barry who was about to enter the net despite images showing that he had not been touched.

“This game has more whistles than football,” said Jolly, Miss Rwanda 2016.
President Kagame’s daughter, Ange Kagame, also pointed out that the match between the Amavubi National Team and Guinea did not go well, indicating that the referee may have looked at VAR blindly.
In a post-match press conference, Amavubi coach Mashami Vincent said Guinea’s striker may have been smarter than the referees.
“Looking at the pictures, the viewers saw that Olivier Kwizera had done nothing wrong with the player, I think the player was very talented, he played on the minds of the referees, I think he was smarter than I would say. All of this has made our game worse. We have agreed, we will not go to VAR.”
