Clare Akamanzi, Singapore Business Federation discuss investment opportunities in Rwanda
The Chief Executive Officer of Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Madam Clare Akamanzi has participated in a webinar on understanding the market developments and investment opportunities in Rwanda. She joined the Rwandan Ambassador in Singapore, Ambassador Jado Uwihanganye.
The webinar which takes place on 25th August 2020 was co-organized by GlobalConnect@SBF, an initiative of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) together with Enterprise Singapore, High Commission of The Republic of Rwanda in Singapore, Rwanda Development Board and Rwanda’s Private Sector Federation to provide an overview of the Rwanda economy, business and investment opportunities for the Singapore business community.
Rwanda is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa, with a GDP of USD10.209 billion in 2019. The annual GDP growth rate was at 9.4% in 2019 and the average GDP growth from 2001 to 2019 is 7.7%. Rwanda being a member of the East African Community offers access to a regional market of over 180 million consumers. Rwanda tops the chart in the East and Central Africa and ranks as the 2nd easiest place to do business in the whole of Africa. Traders and investors have identified emerging opportunities in the Built Environment, Agri Food and FMCG (Consumerism) sectors in Rwanda.
