President Paul Kagame Swears in New Cabinet Members for Five-Year Term
President Paul Kagame has administered the oath of office to of 21 Ministers and 9 Ministers of State appointed to Cabinet, as well as the new CEO of the Rwanda Governance Board., who have pledged to serve in the new Government for the next five years. The swearing-in ceremony took place on August 19, 2024, at the Parliament.
The new Government largely consists of members from the previous cabinet, with only three new Ministers joining the team. President Kagame clarified that those who did not return to the Government were not necessarily fired, but rather reassigned to different roles or waiting to be reassigned.
In his address, President Kagame emphasized the importance of self-assessment and continuous improvement. He urged leaders to reflect on their past performance and strive to do better in the future.
President Kagame also highlighted the significance of gratitude and responsible stewardship. He encouraged leaders to use their talents and resources wisely to serve Rwanda and its people effectively.
Additionally, President Kagame advised leaders to pay attention to public feedback, including social media comments, in order to gauge public sentiment and make necessary adjustments.
President Kagame stressed the importance of humility and self-awareness in leadership. He reminded leaders to remain focused on their duties and not be deterred by criticism or distractions.
