He remarked, “Gone are the days where we as Africans travel to Europe to find solutions to our energy problems while straining our economies. It is a new day for Africa.”

The summit is designed to be more than just a gathering; it’s a collaborative platform where attendees can explore critical issues shaping Africa’s energy landscape.

Discussion topics include extending electricity access to remote communities, maximizing renewable energy sources, and building resilient infrastructure.

“Today, within this challenge lies an extraordinary opportunity,” Yesufu pointed out, highlighting the continent’s potential to harness its abundant natural resources.

Throughout the three-day event, participants will engage in keynote addresses, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with over 5,000 energy professionals from various countries, including China, India, and South Africa.

Yesufu encouraged attendees to seize this opportunity, stating, “Let us embrace this chance to shape the future of Africa’s energy landscape.”

Informa Markets’ initiative to host the summit in Rwanda underscores the country’s commitment to becoming a leading destination for international events.

“I remember when we first approached the Rwanda Convention Bureau and the Ministry of Infrastructure; it was all a dream. But now it’s a reality,” Yesufu said, expressing his gratitude for the support received in bringing the event to life.

This summit aims to foster partnerships between governments, the private sector, and international organizations to drive sustainable energy solutions across the continent.

“This summit is more than just an event. It is a movement,” declared Yesufu, urging participants to ignite economic growth and create a sustainable future for generations to come.

The African Energy Leadership Summit is not only a pivotal event for the energy sector but also a testament to Rwanda’s growing role as a hub for international collaboration and innovation in addressing the continent’s energy needs.
