Gakenke Festive Party 2025: Music, Inspiration, and Unity Power a Memorable Year-End Celebration

In a vibrant celebration marking the end of the year, the Gakenke District in partnership with the National Youth Council organized the first of three community concerts under the banner “Gakenke Festive Party 2025”, with the opening event held in Ruli Sector.

The event, attended by Gakenke District Mayor Mukandayisenga Vestine, the Vice Mayor for Social Affairs Uwamahoro Theresse, security officials, and local leaders, brought together hundreds of residents for an evening of entertainment, reflection, and educational messages.

Local and national artists such as Papa Cyangwe, Intore Tuyisenge, Justin Nsengimana, and Elina lit up the stage, delivering memorable performances to the crowd.

In her address, Mayor Mukandayisenga expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders who made the event a success. She reminded the community to celebrate the festive season responsibly. “We urge our people to maintain peace, avoid excessive drinking, and for the youth to stay away from risky behavior that may lead to early pregnancies,” she said.

Beyond entertainment, the event was a platform for inspiration, especially for the youth. Alice Mukamana, a 22-year-old from Ruli, shared her appreciation: “I loved how the messages were packaged through music. They reminded me to stay focused and avoid peer pressure during the holidays.”

Eric Nshimiyimana, 24, added: “This was more than just a party. I learned a lot about making wise decisions and protecting my future. We need more of these kinds of events.”

Venantie Nyirabahire, a mother of three, also welcomed the initiative: “As a parent, I’m grateful our children can enjoy and learn at the same time. These messages reinforce what we teach them at home.”

The festive concerts will continue in Rushashi Sector on December 27 and conclude in Gakenke Sector on December 28, as the district wraps up 2025 with unity, joy, and purpose.
