Rwanda Expands Global Sports Tourism Campaign as Aston Villa Signs Visit Rwanda Partnership

Rwanda has strengthened its global tourism and investment promotion campaign by securing a landmark partnership with English Premier League side Aston Villa, making the club the latest international football giant to carry the Visit Rwanda brand to a worldwide audience.
Under the agreement, the Visit Rwanda brand will feature prominently on the front of the training kits worn by Aston Villa’s men’s, women’s and academy teams. The partnership is expected to significantly boost Rwanda’s international visibility by reaching millions of football fans through one of the world’s most popular and widely followed leagues.
The collaboration marks another important milestone in Rwanda’s strategy of using sports as a platform to showcase its tourism potential, cultural heritage and investment opportunities. Through Aston Villa’s global reach, the Visit Rwanda campaign will gain increased exposure during training sessions, media appearances and other club-related activities throughout the season.
The partnership also reflects Aston Villa’s ambition to strengthen its international presence while providing Rwanda with another influential platform to connect with audiences across Europe and the rest of the world. With a rich history and an expanding global fan base, the Premier League club offers an ideal avenue for promoting Rwanda as a leading travel destination.
Over the years, the Visit Rwanda initiative has become one of the country’s most successful international branding campaigns, helping attract tourists, investors and global attention while highlighting Rwanda’s renowned wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, rich culture and world-class hospitality.
Aston Villa joins a growing list of elite football clubs that have entered into similar partnerships with Rwanda under the Visit Rwanda campaign. Other clubs include Arsenal FC of England which was concluded in November 2025, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) of France, FC Bayern Munich of Germany, and Atlético de Madrid of Spain. Together, these strategic partnerships continue to strengthen Rwanda’s international profile and reinforce its position as one of Africa’s leading tourism and investment destinations.
