VIV Africa 2026 returns to Kigali as Sub-Saharan Africa’s feed-to-food industry prepares to meet
KIGALI — With just under four weeks to go, VIV Africa 2026 is set to bring the region’s animal protein industry back to the Kigali Convention Centre on 7–8 October, following a Leadership Conference on 6 October.
Now in its fifth edition, the event has grown from Poultry Africa into VIV Worldwide’s dedicated Feed-to-Food platform for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Organizers VNU Europe, part of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs, expect more than 150 exhibitors across about 1,650 square metres, covering farm production, feed ingredients and additives, feed and grain technology, processing, and animal health, plus a Dairy Pavilion.
Visitor numbers are projected at around 2,000 from Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Africa, Cameroon, Sudan and further afield.
Exhibition hours are 10:00–17:00 on both days. Visitor registration is free in advance and includes early access to the exhibitor list and programme.
The Leadership Conference on 6 October runs from 09:00 to 17:00, followed by a networking reception, and costs USD 140. It is aimed at government officials, association leaders, investors, and senior executives.
Natalie Taylor, project manager for VIV Africa, said the show has become a place where the region’s animal protein industry comes to make real decisions, not just window-shop, pointing to Sub-Saharan Africa as one of the world’s fastest-growing animal-protein markets.
Who is coming
Confirmed and announced exhibitors include breeding and hatchery names such as Aviagen, Hendrix Genetics, Hubbard, Novogen, Petersime and Lohmann Breeders; farm-equipment suppliers Big Dutchman, Chore-Time, Roxell, Facco and Vencomatic Group; nutrition and feed companies Cargill, De Heus, Trouw Nutrition, Adisseo, Techna, ADM and IFF Animal Nutrition & Health; process and mill technology from Bühler, Andritz, Famsun and SCE; and processing specialists including Meyn and Baader Food Systems. Animal-health exhibitors include Ceva/Laprovet, Kemin Biologics and Biovet.
Companies and partners have also been promoting specific sessions. Vencomatic Group has flagged a 6 October discussion on finance for poultry projects. IFF is highlighting ruminant phytase and poultry gut-microbiome tools. Organizers are promoting an Investment & Market Access Forum on 7 October, alongside a hosted-buyer programme for qualified decision-makers.
The Embassy of the Netherlands in Kigali and the Rwanda Council of Veterinary Doctors have amplified the event as a meeting point for regional producers and international suppliers.
Why Kigali — and what comes next
Organizers cite Kigali’s infrastructure, relative stability, and position as a regional gateway. The venue sits next to the Radisson Blu Hotel at the KG 2 Roundabout in Kimihurura, about 6 km from the city centre and the airport.
VIV Africa is moving to an alternating East/West Africa calendar: Kigali in even years and a first Abidjan edition planned for 6–7 October 2027. That expansion is intended to give the continent an annual industry gathering rather than a biennial one.
