Rwandan Senior Journalist Denounce Police Mistreatment

A senior Journalist who is also a Lecturer at the University of Rwanda in the School of Journalism and Communication Dr. Kayumba Christophe on Saturday denounced the mistreatment by Rwanda National Police accusing the Security Organ of irresponsibility in their Profession, TOPAFRICANEWS reports.

Kayumba denounced the mistreatment in a series of Tweets following the Police announcement read “Today at 7am in Remera, Mr. Kayumba’s car was towed during a routine operation to curb drunken driving. These operations are meant to save lives and prevent any collateral damage.”

After Police announcement, Mr. Kayumba wrote several Tweets denouncing Police acts while at the same time accusing them to kill innocent citizens.

The Police also told Mr Kayumba that “Rwanda National Police is accountable to all people living in Rwanda.

“If you felt any kind of injustice or crime committed by police service men during the act, please approach the police inspectorate (07883111400) or other competent offices of Ombdsman or Rwanda Investigation Bureau” Police Tweet adds.
