Double weekend win for Police Handball Club
The first round of the National Handball Championship ended this Sunday with a double win for Police Handball Club.
The defending champions thrashed University of Rwanda College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR-CASS) 30-9 on Saturday before recording their sixth successive win (32-18) on Sunday against Ruhango-based ES Kigoma.
The record seven-time champions top their six-team pool with 12 maximum points.
The men’s championship features twelve clubs polled in two groups.
Police Handball Club features in the Western division alongside Munyove of Rusizi District, ES Gisenyi formerly College Inyemeramihigo, UR-CASS and ES Kigoma.
Police, last season, claimed four domestic titles including National Heroes Day tournament, the Genocide Memorial Tournament as well as the season-ending Carre d’As tournament.
