Rotary Clubs of Kigali Virunga and Kigali Golf Unite in Historic Joint Fellowship Event

Kigali, Rwanda – April 30, 2024: In a momentous occasion of camaraderie and service, the Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga (RCKV) and the Rotary Club of Kigali Golf came together for a joint fellowship event at the serene ambiance of the Kigali Golf Clubhouse.

During the event, a significant exchange of banners occurred, symbolizing the unity and collaboration between the two clubs. President Rtn PHF Livingstone Nkuusi of RCKV exchanged banners with the Charter President Rtn PHF Apollo Nkunda of the Rotary Club of Kigali Golf, marking the first banner exchange for the newly established club. Additionally, a banner was exchanged from Rtn Dr MKO Balogun from Rotary Club of Victoria Island Lagos, Rotaractor A. Busingye of the Rotaract Club of Kyanja, further emphasizing the spirit of partnership and cooperation.

Highlighting the significance of this milestone, Rtn PHF OJI Chukwuemeka Donoji shared, “It’s truly delightful to witness the first-ever joint fellowship of this magnitude in Rwanda. This event exemplifies the spirit of Rotary – coming together to make a positive impact in our community.”

The event also celebrated the birthdays of Rtn PHF Devendra Pratap Singh, Rtn Mireille Uwizera, Rtn Justus Kayonga, and Sugi Felix, adding a touch of joy and camaraderie to the gathering. Additionally, Rtn PHF Andrew Kulayige served as the sergeant at arms during the meeting, ensuring its smooth operation.

In his opening remarks, the President of RCKV encouraged members of the Rotary Club of Kigali Golf to expand their membership base and cultivate partnerships to support their projects. He also urged them to explore opportunities for global grants to further their impactful initiatives.

The joint fellowship not only fostered meaningful connections between members but also showcased the dedication of both clubs to Rotary’s principles of service above self. As music filled the air, members enjoyed the opportunity to connect and strengthen bonds, reaffirming their commitment to Rotary’s mission of making a difference in the world.
