Rwanda’s MFA in Vienna for EU-Africa Forum

Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Richard Sezibera is in Vienna to attend the Africa-Europe Forum, an event that aims to strengthen the EU’s long-term partnership with the African continent, TOPAFRICANEWS reports
The participation of the Rwandan Representatives at the Africa-Europe Forum comes at the invitation of the Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz who recently met with Paul Kagame as High Representative of the country holding the Presidency of the African Union.
This website is yet to establish whether President Paul Kagame will attend the Forum, however the Press Release on the Forum noted that “The Forum aims to strengthen the long-term partnership of the European Union with the African continent and will focus on stimulating sustainable investment, job creation and advancing Africa-Europe cooperation in the digital age, while also stimulating the involvement of the private sector and to exploit the development opportunities offered by the African continent,especially in the field of new technologies and digitization. The Forum will be attended by EU Member States, the African Union, the European Institutions, as well as the international financial institutions and representatives of the business environment on the two continents, especially in the field of innovation,digitization and start-ups, “according to the Press Release.
During the event, Romania President Klaus Iohannis will outline, beyond the common challenges of the two continents, the multiple possibilities for dialogue and constructive cooperation areas between Europe and Africa, both in terms of relations between the European Union and the African Union, as well as between Romania and the states of Africa.
