The provisional results of the Study conducted by the Genocide survivors in 19 Districts of Rwanda shows that 9706 Tutsi families of 42 647 persons extinguished during the 1994 genocide Against Tutsi where all members of these families, children and parents were all exterminated, RNA reports.
The study cites cases as in the Rukumberi Sector of Ngoma District (East) where more than 311 Tutsi families were exterminated without leaving any survivor.
The same case is Nyarubuye Sector in Kirehe District. In this Sector, the study shows that a big number of thousand Tutsi families were extinguished, and left no surviving member.
The same study recommends that the same work of identifying extinct Tutsi families continue throughout the country, and that a small monument be erected on such sites as part of the duty of memory.
